Sabre Form (or Dao)

Training:  Training in Tai Chi weapons is an integral part of the martial aspect in Tai Chi Chuan and is an important part of the whole system if you wish to deepen your appreciation and understanding of the Art.  Principles that we recognise in hand form are also applicable to weapons forms.  The weapon should be seen as an extension of the hand form and not something that is attracting your attention as a ‘weapon’

Level 1: In this training session you will learn: How to handle the weapon safely,  Drills and Sequences to allow you to learn the skills necessary to develop this weapon to Level 1 proficiency.

Level 2:  Teaches and examines the Form to deepen your understanding of the weapons within the Wudang system.  Further training and private tuition available on request.

There is a DVD relevant to this course (see DVD’s).

Wudang Spear Training

The Spear is the shortest of the Tai Chi Chuan forms, consisting of fifteen postures. It is however, one of the most difficult to master. The Tai Chi student trains in this weapon to ‘increase wisdom'.

Level  1: In this training session you will learn:  How to  handle this weapon safely, how to manage and judge space (this weapon is 6ft+ long) How to manage energy (Fah Jing), stances and distance.

Level 2: Teaches and examines the Form to deepen your understanding of the weapons within the Wudang system.  Further training and private tuition available on request.

There is a DVD relevant to this course (see DVD’s).
